Fictional editorial study.

Proofreading for consistency. An original short passage prepared for this portfolio.

Before your visit, check the opening time on our guide. The reading room opens at 10am. Please leave large bag at reception. You can collect a visitor pass from the Reception desk.

Before your visit, check the opening time in our guide. The reading room opens at 10 am. Please leave large bags at reception. You can collect a visitor pass from the reception desk.

Why these changes?

The proof corrects the singular noun after “large”, normalises “reception” and uses a consistent time style. The preposition is adjusted for the intended meaning. These are bounded corrections rather than a rewrite of the guide.

What still needs an author’s decision?

The opening time is fictional. In a real guide, the publisher must verify hours, access arrangements and visitor instructions. A proofread can flag a factual question without independently certifying the answer.
